Hartford Foundation's
Nonprofit Support Program
Nonprofit leaders often inquire about technical assistance resources
available in the Greater Hartford region.
Questions are asked about training opportunities, consultants,
funding sources and other issues relevant to nonprofit organizations.
In response to those inquiries, we have compiled this listing as
a service to the nonprofit community.
Microsoft Technology Friends Network
The goal of this
program is to help local charitable organizations harness the power of
technology. As members of the technology industry, we have an
opportunity to work with local charities and provide them with the tools
and skills they need to be more efficient and successful. From helping a
non-profit establish a Web site, to providing training on various
software applications, we'd like to work with you to forge lasting
partnerships with these agencies that do so much to help our community.

that allow visitors to make charitable contributions online, sites that
offer information for donors, and online fund-raising events. The other
four types of sites included are those that focus on non-profit news,

NPower: Technology
Guides for Nonprofits
NPower is excited to announce the Technology
Guides for Nonprofit Leaders, a series of toolkits highlighting the
mission-support role of technology in four distinct sectors. Supported
through a grant from SBC Excelerator, these guides identify innovative
uses of technology in direct service delivery and explore the associated
tools, solutions and resources that are available to nonprofits.
There are four guides available for free
download on the NPower web site at
http://www.npower.org/npowerservices/nationalprojects/sbctechguides.htm.
The sectors covered by the guides are:
-- Arts and Culture
-- Health and Human
Services
-- Education Services
-- Community
Development
Although the guides are sector specific,
there are lessons and tools in each guide that may be interesting and
applicable to nonprofit leaders from other sectors.
Each guide looks at the unique challenges
and opportunities facing a specific sector and then explores ways
technology is being used a tool to both mitigate challenges and enhance
opportunities. Using case studies and examples from organizations across
the country, NPower's Technology Guides provide the tools, resources, and
knowledge needed to inspire nonprofit leaders about the potential of
technology as a service delivery tool.
